Om Meditation – How to Practice Pranav Sadhana to achieve Mental Peace?

Om MeditationPranav Sadhna (Om Meditation) can be done in two ways, one by gazing (Darshan) and secondly by chanting (vocal). The Darshan Sadhna can be done Through Trataka, wherein one looks at image oh Om with Steady eyes, trying to explore all expressed and implied meaning of Om, normally called ‘Bhaitrataka. Then by closed eyes one has to visualize all that seen,normally called ‘Antartrataka. This initial process of 2-3 minutes makes the mind conductive, focused and concentrated, It only purifies the cavity oy eyes but calms the mind as well.it is in instant measure to regain the composure of the mind.

The Vocal Sadhna can be done with the help of chanting the Om.The word Om is a combination oh “Aa”, “Au” and half note of Dot. thus  it is an outcome of  three and half Notes or Matra ,called as “Auta” th by Samarth Ramdas Swami. This each word has specific relevance as far as the science of speech is concerned. All words starting from “Aa” originate From Throat (Kanthavya),those starting from “Au” originate from Tongue(Taalavya) ,those starting From “Ma” originate from lips (Oshtavya) and half note originates From nose(Anunasik).A conscious use of these origins of sound complete the chanting of Om. However While Chanting  Om normally Oo and Ma are expressly uttered to comlete the word Om.

In order to have divine experience of Om following is the simple method of Pranava Sadhna (Om Meditation):

1: Sit on any comfortable and soft Asana(mat) in Sukhasana or any meditative posture like Padmasana,Vajrasana or Swastikasana with both the Dronemudra. Spine eract but relaxed and neck Straight.

2:Relax the entire body with eyes gently closed and relaxed facial muscles.

3: Have few ronds of deep breathing to exhaust the impurities on physical level.

4:Exhale out completely and then inhale slowly and deeply .wait for a while and chant the Om and small duration of Ma in an open and clear voice. In the same way continue to have chanting in middle and lower pitches with respective proportion of Oo and Ma. Have a short Pause between two chanting to experience and notice intaernal changes.

5:As the pitches change,the difference in the intensity and vibrations can be  clearly experienced.They can be experienced in three different parts of the body with the help of specific awareness.

6:In the first level of chanting there is alpha wave domainance in the brain,in the second chanting the Alpha and Theta Domainance is in equal  proportion. In the Third Chanting there is more Theta wave domainance.Alpha waves indicate the peaceful state of mind, whereas the Theta waves indicate the advanced peaceful state of mind.

7:Those having knowledge of Sapta Chakras or energy points in the body can focus the awareness at Muladhar and Swadhishtana chakra during high pitch chanting, at Manipur and Anahta chkra during middle pitch and at Vishuddhi, Ajna and Sahastrar Chakra during lower pitch chanting.

  • सिर की बिमारियों में- सर्वांगासन, शीर्षासन, चन्द्रासन।
  • जुकाम– सर्वांगासन, हलासन, शीर्षासन।
  • मधुमेह- पश्चिमोत्तानासन, नौकासन, वज्रासन, भुजंगासन, हलासन, शीर्षासन।
  • गला- सुप्तवज्रासन, भुजंगासन, चन्द्रासन।
  • पेट की बिमारियों में- उत्तानपादासन, पवनमुक्तासन, वज्रासन, योगमुद्रासन, भुजंगासन, मत्स्यासन।
  • वीर्यदोष– सर्वांगासन, वज्रासन, योगमुद्रा।
  • आंखें- सर्वांगासन, शीर्षासन, भुजंगासन।
  • कमर के लिए– सर्पासन, पवनमुक्तासन, सर्वांगासन, वज्रासन, योगमुद्रासन करें।
  • कद बड़ा करने के लिए- ताड़ासन, शक्ति संचालन, धनुरासन, चक्रासन, नाभि आसन करें।
  • मधुमेह के लिए- मत्स्यासन, सुप्तवज्रासन, योगमुद्रासन, हलासन, सर्वांगासन, उत्तानपादासन करें।
  • मोटापा घटाने के लिए– पवनमुक्तासन, सर्वांगासन, सर्पासन, वज्रासन, नाभि आसन करें।
  • गठिया– पवनमुक्तासन, पद्ïमासन, सुप्तवज्रासन, मत्स्यासन, उष्ट्रासन।
  • नाभि- धनुरासन, नाभि-आसन, भुजंगासन।
  • गर्भाशय– उत्तानपादासन, भुजंगासन, सर्वांगासन, ताड़ासन,  चन्द्रानमस्कारासन।
  • कमर दर्द – हलासन, चक्रासन, धनुरासन, भुजंगासन।
  • फेफड़े- वज्रासन, मत्स्यासन, सर्वांगासन।
  • यकृत- लतासन, पवनमुक्तासन, यानासन।
  • गुर्दे की बीमारी में– सर्वांगासन, हलासन, वज्रासन, पवनमुक्तासन करें।
  • गले के लिए- सर्पासन, सर्वांगासन, हलासन, योगमुद्रा करें।
  • हृदय रोग के लिए- शवासन, साइकिल संचालन, सिद्धासन किया करें।
  • गुदा,बवासीर,भंगदर आदि में- उत्तानपादासन, सर्वांगासन, जानुशिरासन, यानासन।
  • दमा- सुप्तवज्रासन, मत्स्यासन, भुजंगासन।
  • अनिद्रा- शीर्षासन, सर्वांगासन, हलासन, योगमुद्रासन।
  • गैस– पवनमुक्तासन, जानुशिरासन, योगमुद्रा, वज्रासन।
  • मानसिक शांति के लिए– सिद्धासन, योगासन, शतुरमुर्गासन, खगासन योगमुद्रासन।
  • रीढ़ की हड्डी के लिए- सर्पासन, पवनमुक्तासन, सर्वांगासन, शतुरमुर्गासन करें।
  • गठिया के लिए- पवनमुक्तासन, साइकिल संचालन, ताड़ासन किया करें।
  • दमा के लिए- सुप्तवज्रासन, सर्पासन, सर्वांगासन, पवनतुक्तासन, उष्ट्रासन करें।

Indian Americans celebrated the Indian Independence day by hosting a grand 36th India Day Parade NYC on 21st August 2016. Many Indian celebrities and noteworthy personalities participated in this parade.

The parade was attended by 75000 people. The parade ran through 13 streets of Madison Avenue.

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) or अल्प रज स्त्राव  is the most common hormone abnormality of reproductive age in women & ignorant too. Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome occurs mostly in reproductive age between 18 to 35 yrs. According to Ayurveda most common symptoms are Alpa Raj Strav & Aniyamit Strav. Actual menstrual flow is considered to be by product of Rasa Dhatu.

Menstrual cycle is called Rutukala. The Kapha Dosha dominates the 1st half of cycle whereas 2nd half is dominated by Pitta Dosha. And Vaat Dosha begins during the menstrual period.

 CAUSES
  • Cleanliness of genital organs
  • Garbhashay Lekhan Atiyog (D&C)
  • Mansik Karan
  • Ati Upvas (Extreme Fasting)
  • Ati Shit Annapan (Cold Beverages, ice creams etc.)
  • According to modern medicine science, hypothalamic pituitary functions abnormally which leads to high levels of hormones called androgens.That disturbs ovulatory process halting normal development of follices,which forms cysts(string of pearls outside border of ovary which leads to irregular menses
TREATMENT
For balancing the flow:
  • Use Aganya Gunn Chiktasa like Madhur, Snigadh, Bruhan Aahar, Garbhashay Pooshan
  • Use Shatavari, Yashtimadhu, Ashwagandha, Sheerpaak or Kavat, Dashamul Arishta, Abaya Arishta
  • Fruits like Papaya, Banana, Pineapple, Coriander should be eaten
PRECAUTIONS
Following preventive measures can be considered to prevent Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome:
  • Cleanliness of genital organs
  • During menstrual bleeding pads are left unbothered for 6 to 8 hrs,which is the best time for micro-organisns to culture. So pads should be changed every 4 hrs
  • Plenty of water should be consumed
  • Mental stability (Yoga Meditation can be considered here)
  • Control of body weight especially abdominal fats
  • Have Light food, avoid oily,sugary syrups, bakery products
  • Practice Yoga Asanas such as Surya Namaskar, Bhujangasana, Naukasana, Dhanurasana etc.
